What Is This Puja?

Naamkaran Sanskar is the naming rite of the parampara: the ceremony in which a child receives the name that will carry them through life, spoken formally before the family's deities and the gathered household. The rite invokes Ganesh ji, holds the sankalp with the child's birth details and the family's gotra, honours the Navagraha with attention to the birth tithi as guided by the pandit, and arrives at its heart: the naam ghosh, where the father or a family elder speaks the chosen name into the child's ear, and the household hears it aloud for the first time. Where the family wishes, the pandit may suggest the auspicious first syllable per the child's janma nakshatra. The rite closes with the Ayushya mantras recited over the child, the elders' blessing, and prasad. The puja is performed at the family's home. The child's birth details and the family's gotra are recorded at booking. The rite takes approximately two hours.

“For eleven days, or a month, or however long the family has waited, the baby has been simply the baby. Then one morning the house fills with relatives and the smell of kheer, a lamp is lit, and into one small ear a name is spoken for the first time. The child will hear that name ten thousand times: called across playgrounds, written on schoolbooks, spoken at their own wedding someday. The parampara insists the first time be sacred.”

SiddhiStar Samagri Policy
The SiddhiStar Samagri Kit (Block 1) is offered as an optional add-on at the time of booking. The family may choose to receive the kit at home before the puja date, or arrange the Block 1 items themselves from a local kirana store or home delivery app. Either option is honoured equally; the kit is a convenience layer, not a ritual necessity.

Important Note

Naamkaran Sanskar is performed at the family's home, with the child present and the parents holding the sankalp. The child's birth details and the family's gotra are recorded at booking; where the family seeks the nakshatra syllable guidance, the birth time and place are shared as well. The choice of name always remains the family's own; the pandit's syllable guidance is offered only where the family asks for it. The rite takes approximately two hours and pairs naturally with a family gathering.
