Diwali Shop Opening Puja

For the shop whose first sale is made in Lakshmi’s season.

Diwali Shop Opening Puja

Overview

What Is This Puja?

For trading families, there has never been a better time to open a new shop than the days around Diwali. The counter, the scale, the cash box and the new account books are all set in place while the whole market is worshipping Lakshmi, and the first sale of the shop becomes part of the festival itself. The Diwali Shop Opening Puja consecrates your new shop as a place of dharmic commerce. A Pandit of the Narwar Dham parampara, booked through SiddhiStar, performs it at the shop itself. He invokes Ganesh ji to remove obstacles from the new venture, Lakshmi ji for prosperity, and Saraswati ji for clarity and honesty in dealings, and welcomes Vastu Devta into the shop space. The Diwali season adds the elements every trader recognises: Kubera pujan, the first bahi-khata marked with Shubh and Labh, the worship of the scale and the cash box, Deepdaan, and the ceremonial first sale of the shop.
SiddhiStar Note
“In North Indian household tradition, every place where work happens - the shop, the office, the workshop - is treated as a place that needs devata worship before business begins. The shop is not merely a commercial space; it is where the family's livelihood will flow. Shop Opening Puja is the moment of inviting Lakshmi ji into that space, with the same care as inviting her into the home.”

SiddhiStar Samagri Policy
The SiddhiStar Anushthan Samagri required for the puja is included in the puja price. The family may choose to receive the samagri at home before the puja date, or arrange the required items themselves from a local kirana store or home delivery app. Either option is honoured equally. The Anushthan Samagri is provided for convenience and standardisation, and is not a separate charge or a ritual necessity. Hawan Samagri is separate from the Anushthan Samagri and is available as an optional add-on at an additional charge. If the family opts for a Hawan as part of the puja, the applicable Hawan Samagri will be included and charged separately.
